Walking Oaks

Fifth grader Zoey French (L) has reached 175 miles walked, which leads the Club. Third Grader Jacob Gray (C) and Fourth Grader Bentley Hamilton (R) both have achieved 25 miles walked and earned Club t-shirts. Great job, students! Students Learn Pound Fitness

AA 2nov19The Active Acorns had a brand new experience at our November 6, 2019 meeting: Pound Fitness! Michele Richards-Turner and her Pound Fitness co-instructor Tishina were nice enough to visit our meeting and get the students moving with this very fun activity. The kids loved it, and they had a great workout. The Active Acorns Club is sponsored by Holzer Health Systems and the Jackson County Health Department.

Third graders Stella Lester and Ryleigh Little have walked 25 miles and earned their Club t-shirts. Active Acorns

AAC2 23oct19At the October 23rd Active Acorns meeting, Paramedic Ryan Foster from the Jackson County EMS visited and taught the students about basic first aid, the Heimlich Maneuver, AED use, and CPR. The students did hands-on training and also got to tour the squad. Ryan did a fantastic job and provided very useful information. The Active Acorns Club is sponsored by Holzer Health Systems and the Jackson County Health Department.
