Rio Summer Programs

University of Rio Grande Summer Bridge Program 

(10 week program)

Summer Bridge 10 week program - Seniors! Jump start to college by earning nine college credit hours for FREE. Does Free tuition, fees, books and $10 gas card sound good? If you struggle with math or English this program is for you. The Rio Summer Bridge Program will be offered at the Main, Jackson, Meigs and McArthur campuses.

CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) Phase I & II 10 week program – Understand and Identify substances and their effects by taking this five credit hour program. Tuition and Fees for these two courses covered by the short-term certificate grant. Offered at all locations. Student is responsible for books.

Beginner Basics Summer Welding Program -Learn basic SMAW & GMAW skills, learn about Welding Safety and PPE usage, Earn an AWS D1.1 SMAW 3G with backing bar certification. Students will also build a small project to be taken home at the completion of the course. Tuition and Course fees for this program will be covered by the short-term certificate grant. Student will need to purchase books and equipment (approximately $700.00). Students can complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid for this program. Offered at Main campus Monday – Thursdays 5:00pm – 9:50pm for 10 weeks.
