2024 Oak Hill Music Boosters Band and Choir Scholarships

One-time Award to one band and one choir student

Cash Award of $250

Award Type: Scholarship must be paid to an institution of higher learning. The scholarship will be paid upon presentation of proof of enrollment as a full-time student at an institution of higher learning. Proof of enrollment must be presented to the band or choir director or Oak Hill Music Booster officer.

Woolum Scholarship

2024 Jack M. Woolum Memorial Scholarship

$2,500 per academic year for a maximum of four years ($10,000)

Jack M. Woolum was a 1966 graduate of Oak Hill High School. After high school, Mr. Woolum pursued his higher education at Franklin University earning a degree in Business. He went on to earn a Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and was credentialed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Mr. Woolum was employed by several large companies throughout his long career and the last fifteen years were spent employed by United States Department of Defense (DOD) and traveling the world. Mr. Woolum was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. He recognized the importance of education for rural youth and credited his own education with allowing him to live a life of opportunity and success. This scholarship has been established in Mr. Woolum’s honor to help another Oak Hill High School student reach for the stars.

Scholarship Eligibility: Enrollment in a four-year, accredited college or university

Selection of Scholar: Woolum Scholarship Committee  

Award Type: The scholarship will be paid directly to an institution of higher learning. The scholarship will be paid upon presentation of proof of enrollment as a full time student at a four-year college or university. Proof of enrollment must be presented annually to the Oak Hill Union Local School District Treasurer before payment is released.

Ministerial Scholarship

2024 Oak Hill Ministerial Association Scholarship

Our intent is to encourage young Christian leaders by offering this scholarship to help further their vocational goals. The amount of the scholarship is at least $250 with the check made out to the college or university. 

Scholarship Guidelines:

The successful applicant(s) must:

  • Be a young Christian man or woman
  • Live in the Oak Hill School District
  • Is a graduating Senior of Oak Hill High School
  • Is an active member of a church (does not have to be within the school district)
  • Submit a completed application by the stated deadline.

Other considerations:

  • Financial need is a possible consideration if two or more acceptable applicants apply and are being considered.
  • Priority will be given to applications from those who are seeking lifetime ministry service
  • If minimum requirements are not met by anyone the scholarship will not be awarded that year, but held for future scholarships.
  • Please attach a OHHS Transcript of Grades to the application.

Paramount Beauty Academy Scholarship

2024 Paramount Beauty Academy Scholarship

Paramount Beauty Academy is offering scholarships to deserving high school students who will be graduating in the year 2024. If accepted by the Academy, the student will be entitled to the following scholarships:

  • $2,000 Scholarship (1500 Hour Cosmetology)
  • $1,000 Scholarship (750 Hour Esthetics), 
  • $1,500 Scholarship (1050 Hour Combo Esthetics/Manicurists)
  • $500 Scholarship (200 Hour Manicurist)

To qualify, a student must enroll at Paramount Beauty Academy in the year 2024, be recommended by their high school counselor, and write a minimum 300 word essay as to why they want to become a professional cosmetologist.

The scholarship certificate (signed by both the student and guidance counselor) along with the essay must be mailed to the Director at 1745 11th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.
