University of Rio Grande Jake Bapst Scholarship

Two-Year Full Tuition Scholarship!

 

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • ✓ Be ACCEPTED to the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College for the 2026-2027 academic year ✓ Attend a high school in the four county service district of Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, or Vinton County (including Buckeye Hills Career Center)
  • ✓ Reside in the four county service district of Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, or Vinton County
  • Before submitting your application, prepare the following documents that will be required:
  • ✓ High school transcript and ACT Composite Score. Superscore will not be accepted. ACT must be taken prior to application deadline. (If transcript with ACT Composite Score has already been submitted by your guidance counselor, no additional copy is needed)
  • ✓ Resume, in correct resume format, listing scholastic achievements, school and community involvement, and/or employment history
  • ✓ Essay – Choosing one of the topics below, essay must be a minimum of 500 words, double space, 12-point font.
    • Topic 1: If you were chosen as the recipient of this scholarship, how impactful would this be to your college career? State any special personal or family circumstances affecting your need for financial assistance.
    • Topic 2: How do you define success? When you look back on your life in 20 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? How does this scholarship fit into your plans for success?
