Oak Hill Union Local Schools

    The 2012 commencement speaker May 19th was Mr. Tim Williams, a 1977 Oak Hill graduate, registered pharmacist, and successful independent pharmacy owner and businessman.

     He was born in 1958 in Huntington, W.Va. along with his twin brother John.  The family then moved to Oak Hill where his father began a 37 year career in the school system and added another brother, Todd to the family. 

     Active in school and sports, Tim earned 10 varsity letters while an Oak.  He was named Ohio’s football offensive player of year after leading the state in rushing with over 2000 yards.  Accepting a scholarship to play football at Marshall University, his position coach was Reggie Oliver, the quarterback who lead the  Thundering Herd to its first victory after the 1970 plane crash made famous in the movie “We Are Marshall.”  Leaving Marshall, Tim attended The Ohio State University and graduated cum laude from Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.

     In 1988, he bought his first pharmacy in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.  By 1990 the store was named Independent Pharmacy of the Year by Drug Topics Magazine.  Since that time he has purchased two other pharmacies.  At his current location he has participated in the federal Weed and Seed programs for safer inner cities and various hospice programs.

     Professionally he has served on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee for Windsor Hospital, a dual-diagnosis drug-rehab for adults and adolescents.  He is a past board member of the Northern Ohio Academy of Pharmacy and member of the National Association of Retail Druggist.  Currently he is a member of the Ohio State Pharmacy Association.  Locally he has been active in the Jaycees and chamber of commerce.

     Tim now makes his home in Chardon, Ohio along with Mary his wife of 28 years. They have four children, a son Johnathan Todd and three daughters Jane, Sarah, and Maggie.
