Oak Hill Fabric Arts students welcomed the opportunity to hone their sewing skills and help costume the Munchkins in the March 2013 performance of the Wizard of Oz. Mrs. Hamilton and Fabric Arts students were pleased to be asked by Mrs. Sites, Assistant Director, and Play Director Mr. Werntz to sew a variety of apron styles in multiple colors for the lively little play characters.

Manage Transitions students completed the course with a sewing machine project. Students had the opportunity to operate a sewing machine to make a locker caddy storage tote. The handy totes may be placed in student lockers to keep themselves organized.

The 2012-2013 Gallia, Jackson, Vinton District FCCLA Meeting was held at the University of Rio Grande Lyne Center. Oak Hill High School was represented by Payton Holsinger as District President. Miss Holsinger presided over the 250 FCCLA members attending from the three county area by calling the meeting to order and introducing speakers. "Leadership Ignited" is the 2012-2013 Ohio FCCLA State Theme.
Jeff Lanham, Athletic Director for the University of Rio Grande, welcomed the students on behalf of the University of Rio Grande. Mr. Lanham made a big impression with the students as his short welcome game challenged their attention, acuity skills and, consideration of the future.
Featured speaker Harvey Alston presented "Be The Best." He emphasized we must maintain the "total package of mental and physical fitness." Commenting on the mixed message teens see in the media and what they are told to do by parents and teachers. Mr. Alston told FCCLA members they would have to make hard choices for themselves. Concluding, they should "Never rest till my good becomes my best!"

The afternoon session was a collection of fitness workshops for students including: Zumba instructor, Deb Adkins, University Fitness Center, Launch with Todd Barlow, fitness challenge by Oak Hill FCCLA Advisor Judy Hamilton, and a walking course.
Tables addressing wellness issues were supplied by Adena Hospital, Fuel Up to Play 60, Holzer Hospital, Launch, and the Vinton County Health Department.
Oak Hill’s "Leadership Ignited" theme poster was designed by Mike Ison.
